Modernisation of judicial cooperation in civil and commercial matters: Taking of evidence

Council Regulation No. 1206/2001 has created a uniform European system of judicial cooperation for the purposes of taking cross-border evidence in civil and commercial matters. The Regulation establishes simple and rapid mechanisms between courts of the different Member States for the purpose of taking evidence.
