Protecting citizens against health threats

Public health, Research and innovation

In our globalised world, epidemics such as Ebola and Zika can spread quickly across borders and have dramatic impacts on human lives, the economy and global security. This Communication outlines a comprehensive EU strategy to support the Member States' capacity to prepare for and respond to such epidemics, to develop treatments and vaccines, and to coordinate with other efforts around the world.
