Response to Evaluation of mandatory country of origin labelling for certain meats

18 Sept 2018

I believe it is a good idea. My only criticism is about the nature of the label on meats. If it is just a paper label to be applied on boxes or directly on meat, I strongly believe that it will be totally inneficient and even dangerous fo the simple reason that its couterfaction will be too easy. The idea is good but an efficient technological label is needed. Laws are important, but often they create in reality optimal conditions for counterfecting. Personally, as an ex professor of advanced physics, I have been studying counterfecting strategies since some years and found that, without introducing appropriate technologies, laws are, alone, very inefficient.

Response to Expansion of the EU customs territory and other technical amendments to the Union Customs Code

12 May 2018

I believe that the major economical problem somehow associated with European Union is the increasing flux of counterfeit goods into our territory as certified by Europol. Of course this fact depends on the increasing flux of goods due to globalisation. Anyhow my personal opinion is that not all customs offices apply strict rules of control. This affects the private and public budgets. My personal opinion is that custom offices need more advanced technologies to discover counterfeit products. In particular counterfeit medicines are dangerous for our peoples. As this illegal market is managed by international mafias E.U needs new technologies rather than laws and regulations. The European Commission must, in my personal opinion, launch research calls for projects in this specific sector.

Response to The New European Agenda for Culture

25 Mar 2018

What is needed is essentially to work at the level of media: EU must promote the basics of its approach in favour of the concept of European Citizens and make clear the adavantages of beig European. The role of different EU bodies and agencies must be made clear to citizens and simplify the contacts with them. At the moment the people perceive EU as a remote, not well, defined authority just interactin with the elites of the society,

Response to Fair taxation of the digital economy

25 Mar 2018

Internet services have rapidly increased taking advantages from the ignorance of the political class. Of course for huge companies a clear law for taxes of those operating in Europe as well. It must be irrelevant where companies are physically located, most of them are located in remote areas where they pay reeduced taxes. If income and gains come from EU they have to pay taxes there. On the contrary for small European startups there should be very reduced taxes to suppurt their growth.
