The revision of Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 aims at addressing a number of requests from Member States and stakeholders to provide, while maintaining the same high level of food safety, some flexibility on hygiene requirements for meat, to adapt to new consumers’ demands and to solve certain particular issues that created practical difficulties in the implementation or need clearer provisions.
