Revision of the electricity guideline on forward capacity allocation.
Energy
The European electricity forward market appears to be struggling with many issues, such as insufficient liquidity, accessibility, lack of competition and transparency. This prevents market participants from having access to effective and efficient forward markets to hedge their price exposure. The objective for the improvement of the rules on forward capacity allocation in the electricity sector is to ensure access to sufficient hedging opportunities to EU market participants.
