The Communication from the Commission on the application of State aid rules to public service broadcasting sets out the framework governing the public funding of public service broadcasting. It was last reviewed in 2009. The Commission will evaluate how the Communication has worked and assess whether the rules: • are still fit for purpose, • address recent technological, market and legal developments, • deliver the intended outcomes, and • could be simplified or made clearer.
