Uniform rounding rules for cash payments

Economy, finance and the euro

The Commission will assess the possibility to introduce rounding rules for cash payments and to withdraw the legal tender status of the 1- and 2- euro cent coins. Building on the results of previous Commission’s reports and on extensive consultations, the Commission will carry out an impact assessment to explore different options.
