Update of the Better Internet for Children Strategy (BIK Strategy)
Digital economy and society
The 2012 European Strategy for a Better Internet for Children protects and empowers children online through EU funding, coordination and self-regulation. It is a global benchmark referred to by most Member States in national policies. As announced in the EU strategy on the Rights of the Child, the BIK Strategy needs to be updated given changes in children’s use of digital technology, the acceleration of the digital transformation caused by COVID-19, and the Digital Decade framework.
