Response to Digital package – digital omnibus

The German AI Association welcomes the European Commissions Digital Omnibus initiative as a long-overdue opportunity to make the EUs digital rulebook workable for innovation. For German and European AI startups and SMEs, todays patchwork of rules, across European digital regulatory frameworks, creates overlapping transparency obligations, restrictive and inconsistent data-use provisions, duplicated documentation and assessments, and uneven enforcement across Member States. These complexities drive up costs, slow time-to-market, and ultimately weaken the global competitiveness of Germany and the EU. We therefore welcome the opportunity to provide recommendations for simplification measures across EU digital and AI regulations in order to increase the innovative strength and competitiveness of German and European AI companies. Response to Apply AI Strategy

The German AI Association and the European AI Forum welcome the European Commission's efforts to strengthen the European Union as an AI continent, thereby improving the deployment of AI within the Union. Currently, the EU is facing critical challenges in maintaining its competitiveness in AI development and deployment. In order to strengthen Europe's position in the global AI landscape, we recommend integrating a set of key, targeted policy measures into the Apply AI Strategy.
