Response to New comprehensive strategic approach towards India

EU initiative to launch a new comprehensive strategic approach to EU-India Relations. Focusing on economic cooperation and trade relations between the EU and India and the eventuality of the conclusion of the FTA, the role of civil society is to be underscored and strengthened in the process. More trade does not necessarily mean fair trade. Positive figures for trade and economic growth should also translate into higher living standards and more social justice, as well as into higher levels of environmental protection.
