The attached letter explains that when the Radio Equipment Directive came into law, the lowering of the bottom frequency that is considered to be radio from 9 kHz to 0 Hz made criminals of thousands of hearing aid and cochlear implant users who use hearing loops systems to help them hear more clearly. This change in legislation has resulted in an unreasonable burden for the European Hearing Loop System industry for no gain in spectrum efficiency, which are the supposed objectives of the RED.
