Response to Proposal for a Regulation on Military Mobility

Norsk e-Fuel welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the European Commissions initiative on military mobility. As a project developer, Norsk e-Fuel is establishing large-scale production sites to deliver synthetic fuels (eSAF) to the aviation industry, with a focus on developing a Nordic project portfolio. Energy and security of supply is becoming an increasingly important topic within Europe. Refining and production capacity is steadily diminishing, while the consumption of fuel is only expected to increase in the future. At the same time, Europe is dependent on import of fuel for its transport sector. With both aviation and defense sectors relying on stable access to fuel for several decades, ensuring European production capacity of synthetic fuel provides a strategic measure to enable improved security of supply for military mobility. In this context, Norsk e-Fuel together with Arcadia eFuels, SkyNRG and Zaffra have developed the attached Joint Contribution to the Military Mobility Package consultation on the role of synthetic aviation fuels in Europe's defense preparedness. We look forward to further discussions on these recommendations and to explore how Norsk e-Fuel together with partners can contribute in building a framework that supports energy security and drives climate neutrality.
