Response to Proposal on the conditions for the remuneration of third country recorded music played in the EU

PlayRight* strongly supports the initiative defined in the present Call for Evidence and appeals to the Commission to pursue the said initiative with the highest priority. You will find our feedback in attachment. *PlayRight is the collective management organisation (CMO) of neighbouring rights for performing artists in Belgium and manages as such the single equitable remuneration. As of 31 December 2021, PlayRight represents 19,114 affiliates including 15,114 music performers (singers, musicians, conductors). In addition, PlayRight represents foreign performers through reciprocal agreements entered into with CMOs in other countries. In 2021, PlayRight distributed a remuneration to 81,092 members of foreign CMOs and received a remuneration from foreign CMOs for 6,284 of its own members.
