Response to Review report on the Governance Regulation of the Energy Union and Climate Action

3 Aug 2023

Contribution by WWF Greece to the European Commissions call for evidence on the climate governance regulation WWF Greece welcomes the European Commissions (EC) initiative to review the Regulation on the governance of the energy union and climate action (EU) 2018/1999 (Governance Regulation) and to ask the Member States to provide their feedback on its implementation and effectiveness. Response to Guidance on accelerating permitting processes for renewable energy projects and facilitating Power Purchase Agreements

12 Apr 2022

For almost two decades WWF Greece has been actively participating in shaping environmental legislation and policy documents through participating in public consultations, and has been monitoring closely the implementation of national and European environmental legislation in Greece (see here our annual legal reviews https://www.contentarchive.wwf.gr/library/library-nomikes-ektheseis). WWF Greece fully acknowledges the urgency to reduce as fast as possible the EU’s dependency on fossil fuels and clearly states its opposition to any classification of fossil gas and nuclear power as “sustainable” investments, and would like to contribute through providing its feedback to the present process of “call for evidence” prior to the adoption of a Recommendation by the EC on “Renewable energy projects – permit-granting processes & power purchase agreements”. Please find attached our feedback.
