Svaz je právnickou osobou, která je dobrovolným, nezávislým, nevládním a nepolitickým sdružením právnických a fyzických osob – zemědělských obchodních společností, zemědělských družstev, odbytových družstev a společností, zemědělců a dalších podnikatelů, jejichž podnikání je především zaměřeno na zemědělství, pěstitelství, chovatelství a služby - které se sdružily na ochranu svých hospodářských a sociálních zájmů v souladu s právními předpisy České republiky.
