Advanced driver distraction warning (ADDW) systems

Single market

Under the General Vehicle Safety Regulation 2019/2144, from mid-2024 all new types of vehicles are required to be fitted with an advanced driver distraction warning system. It will help reducing serious accidents on EU roads. This initiative sets out the specific test procedures and technical requirements for the approval of vehicles fitted with such advanced vehicle system.
