Assessment of the energy efficiency public funding support at Union and national level

Energy

Energy efficiency is instrumental to achieve full decarbonisation by 2050 while ensuring competitiveness of the European economy. With a view to deploy financing at the needed scale, the Energy Efficiency Directive recast requests the Commission to assess the current state of public funding support and the capacity of Member States to increase the uptake of private investments in energy efficiency. The Commission shall also evaluate whether an energy efficiency mechanism at Union level is needed.
