Council Framework Decision 2004/757/JHA laying down minimum provisions on the constituent elements of criminal acts and penalties in the field of illicit drug trafficking is being evaluated as announced in the EU roadmap to fight drug trafficking and organised crime, COM/2023/641. The purpose of the evaluation is to see whether the rules of the Framework Decision, especially those on criminal sanctions, should be amended, modernised and strengthened.
