Monitoring and reporting of Light Duty Vehicles (LDVs)

The Commission Regulation aims to set the detailed rules for the monitoring and reporting by Member States and manufacturers of data relating to passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, including real-world CO2 emissions and fuel or electric energy consumption as well as certain type approval data for the purpose of preparing a procedure for in-service verification of CO2 emissions.

BMW warns of privacy risks in vehicle data monitoring

BMW proposes anonymizing data by removing Vehicle Identification Numbers and using registration document information instead. They also request the Commission eliminate duplicate reporting requirements already covered by existing electronic platforms.
