Preventing illegal trade in wildlife
Environment
Illegal trade in wild plants and animals remains a significant problem for nature and for human wellbeing. Wildlife trafficking contributes to the decline of biodiversity, threatens the livelihoods of local communities, undermines the rule of law, and can carry public-health risks. A revision of the wildlife action plan will enable measures by EU institutions and Member States to remain well coordinated and to address the most important current sources of the problem.
