Reducing human health risks associated with the use of sunbeds

Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, adopted in February 2021, is a priority in the area of health and a key component of a strong European Health Union. It covers the whole disease pathway, from prevention to quality of life of cancer patients and survivors. In the area of prevention, the Cancer Plan announced that the Commission would explore measures on exposure to ultraviolet radiation, including from sunbeds, which increases the risk of melanoma, the most serious form of skin cancer.
