Member States must designate border control posts in accordance with a set of minimum requirements. This Implementing Regulation intends to establish those minimum requirements that relate to e.g. facilities and technical equipment, and that are necessary to take account of specific logistic needs when performing controls and also when specific measures, like destruction of consignments or their official detention, are needed to deal with non-compliant consignments.
