Trainline is an independent online rail and coach ticket vendor and Europe’s leading train and coach app, selling rail and coach tickets to millions of travellers worldwide. Via our website and mobile application, people can seamlessly search, book and manage their journeys all in one place. We bring together routes, fares and journey times from over 270 rail and coach operators in 45 countries so that everyone can buy tickets quickly and save time, effort, and money. We are making it easier for people to buy the best ticket for their journey with giving them live, personalised travel information on the go via our awesome app. Our aim is to make rail and coach travel easier and more accessible, encouraging people to make more environmentally sustainable travel choices. We sell rail and coach tickets to people all over the world on behalf of all the major UK and European rail and coach companies. We welcome the upcoming initiative on Multimodal digital mobility services and the fact that the European Commission envisages making a proposal for Regulation. We bring together routes, fares and journey times from over 270 rail and coach carriers across 45 countries. We offer our customers the best price for their journey and smart, real time travel information on the go. Our aim is to make rail and coach travel easier and more accessible, encouraging people to make more environmentally sustainable travel choices. Trainline welcomes the upcoming evaluation and is willing to assist by providing background facts and knowledge from an industry participant which, as a ticket vendor independent from transport companies, depends on customer satisfaction as its lifeline. We are also very happy to participate in any Commission Expert Groups, stakeholder workshops, meetings and other consultation activities. As our business depends on innovation and customer satisfaction, we welcome changes that open up data held by public undertakings for the ultimate benefit of European citizens and consumers. We bring together routes, fares and journey times from 260 rail and coach carriers across 45 countries. We offer our customers the best price for their journey and smart, real time travel information on the go. Our aim is to make rail and coach travel easier and more accessible, encouraging people to make more environmentally sustainable travel choices. (When we use “coach” or “coach travel” in the context of this document, this refers to long-distance bus services and both national and international journeys.) Trainline welcomes the upcoming evaluation and is willing to assist by providing background facts and knowledge from an industry participant which, as a platform operator independent from transport companies, depends on customer satisfaction as its lifeline. We are also very happy to participate in any Commission Expert Groups, stakeholder workshops, meetings and other consultation activities. As our business depends on customer satisfaction, we welcome changes that improve passenger rights. In particular, we believe that passengers should have access to all data relating to their journey, including real-time data, irrespective of the channel or ticket vendor it chooses to use for its coach booking/information. Therefore, any recast should ensure that all ticket vendors have impartial access to all coach data before, during and after the journey – including real-time data – which will allow ticket vendors to make this information available to passengers, which will in turn make onward journeys easier, and particularly help passengers in times of disruption. We look forward to working further with the consultation team.
