Response to Virtual worlds, such as metaverse

Vivendi Group has first-rate assets in a number of creative indsutries, including television, movies and series with Canal+ Group, communication and consulting with Havas, publishing with Editis, magazines with Prisma Media, video games with Gameloft, and Live entertainment and ticketing with Vivendi Village. As for media groups in Europe, Vivendi is facing up global competition, while supporting and investing in European cultural diversity to the benefit of European consumers. In this sense, the creation of resilient and dynamic European groups in the media sector is an opportunity for the influence of European cultural soft power as well as a support for European values. In this perspective, Vivendi is committed to supporting innovation. Havas Group launched Havas Blockchain in March 2018, being one of the first European corporate in this field and started to build decentralized ecosystems and products. The group announced the launch in the EU of Havas Play, a new agency combining the talents of Havas Sports & Entertainment and Socialyze Paris in a unique market vision covering its areas of expression, namely sports, media gaming, entertainment, social media, web3 and the Metaverses. Vivendi considers that especially in the current context, it is essential to allow and support the efforts of European players to strengthen their research and development capacities (expressly in data, artificial intelligence and adaptation to new uses) in a sector undergoing rapid transformation, as well as their investment capacities, in order to offer the European public a diversified offer carried by independent, solid and sustainable media and hence constitute an alternative in the digital & entertainment field. We hope that Virtual worlds and Metaverse will emerge as balanced ecosystem We wish that the development of Web 3. This is the model we are promoting to ensure and unlock the value for content creators, to ensure better protection of future Metaverse users and to give the EU a competitive edge again.
