Digital economy and society

The European Commission will develop a vision for emerging virtual worlds (or metaverses), respecting EU values, digital rights and EU legislation. We aim for open and interoperable virtual worlds with innovative applications across industry and society, safely and confidently used by citizens and businesses alike. Informed by the outcome of one of the pilots for the new generation of citizens' panels, this initiative would describe this vision, address opportunities and societal challenges, and announce upcoming actions for its implementation.
