Evaluation of the Victims’ Rights Directive

Justice and fundamental rights

The Commission launches the evaluation of the Victims’ Rights Directive to get information on the extent to which the Directive has achieved its objectives. The main purpose of the Directive is to ensure that crime victims receive appropriate information, support and protection and are able to participate in criminal proceedings. This evaluation will assess to what extent the above objectives have been achieved by implementation and practical application of the Directive in the Member States.
