Evaluation of the Whistleblower Protection Directive

Justice and fundamental rights

The Commission will carry out an evaluation on the Whistleblower Protection Directive (Directive (EU) 2010/1937). According to Article 27(3) of this Directive, the Commission is required to submit a report to the European Parliament and to the Council assessing the impact of national law transposing this Directive. The report will evaluate the way in which this Directive has functioned and consider areas where additional measures or amendments might be required.

German Employers Oppose Further Tightening of Whistleblower Directive

German Tax Advisors Urge Inclusion in Whistleblower Confidentiality Rules

Law enforcement agencies would lose access to reports concerning certain types of tax violations.
