The Slot Regulation provides common rules at EU level to ensure that, where airport capacity is scarce, available landing and take-off slots are used efficiently and distributed in a fair, non-discriminatory and transparent way. The review will assess how to improve the efficient use of airport capacity, while making the allocation system more responsive and resilient in crises, and taking into account other policy priorities such as decarbonisation, quality connectivity or intermodality.
