The State aid rules applicable to the broadband sector were evaluated to assess if they are still fit for purpose. The results of the evaluation show that the current rules work well overall but require some targeted adjustments. The Commission launches the revision of the current framework to update it in line with the technological and socio-economic developments and to take into account the new EU connectivity objectives as well as other recent policy developments.
