The project concerns the revision of the State aid Railway Guidelines. The fitness check confirmed that the Railway Guidelines are outdated. The Commission intends to put in place, for the benefit of Member States and stakeholders, updated rules fully aligned with overarching EU priorities. The new rules will also be simpler to apply. As such, the revised rules will codify existing case practice, but also be adapted to the needs of the sector to grow and become more competitive.
