Social and labour aspects of the climate transition

On 14 July 2021, the Commission published the ‘Fit for 55’ package to deliver the EU's 2030 climate target on the way to climate neutrality. This initiative aims at providing guidance to Member States on how best to address the social and labour aspects of the climate transition. It follows up on the ‘Fit for 55’ Communication and the accompanying proposal for establishing a social climate fund, and is foreseen to be part of the second ‘Fit for 55’ package.
