The detailed objectives are: a) to relate with the railway relevant professional organizations and associations like UNIFE, CER, UIC, CEN, CENELEC and others as well as with official bodies like the European Rail Agency ERA, the European Commission – here also with other General Directorates than DG Move – the European parliament and the Council and their representatives and make the work of the NB-Rail Coordination Group visible to those organizations, associations and stakeholders; b) to establish the Association as a representative body with these organizations, associations and agencies, as Article 30 of Directive 2016/797/EU does not provide for establishing the NB-Rail Coordination Group as a stakeholder; c) to support the coordination of the notified bodies to harmonize the procedures of the notified bodies d) to defend the interest of the 3rd Party COnformity Assessment Body in Railway & Guided Transport Fields

Response to Evaluation of the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA)

Aim of NB-Rail Association feedback aims to support the Agency (EUAR / ERA) in the improvement of its working practices. We recommend the Agency to precisely listen to the sector in important work streams when the sector tries to keep the Agency “on the right track” e.g. TSI revision process We recommend the Agency to implement structured planning at working party level including all the major milestone and steps including the interfaces with the sector e.g. time for consistency check at sector level before public consultation (TSI revision process)

Response to Rules for rail vehicle extension of area of use and specifications on standards and transition under Union requirements

The proposed regulation is recognising the added value of the 3rd party conformity assessment bodies in the rail sector by requesting an EC verification procedure for the purpose of the extension of the area of use of a vehicle.
