The EU legislation on distance marketing of financial services supports the free movement of financial services in the internal market by harmonising consumer protection rules for financial services sold at a distance (e.g. by phone, mail, Internet…). This initiative aims at reviewing this legislation, following the results of a recent evaluation that has highlighted several issues hampering its correct functioning.
