Child sexual abuse online: detection, removal and reporting

Home affairs

Child sexual abuse is a particularly serious crime that has serious life-long consequences for victims. The exponential development of the digital world makes this crime a truly global one. This initiative defines the responsibilities of relevant online service providers to detect, remove and report child sexual abuse online and requires them to report that material to public authorities. The Commission will also explore creating a European centre to prevent and counter child sexual abuse.
