Gender equality in the EU

Gender equality is a fundamental value of the European Union. The European Commission promotes gender equality through strategic frameworks. The Commission’s current strategic engagement for gender equality 2016-2019 is ending this year, together with the term of the Commission. In this context, the Commission is launching a public consultation to gather opinions from different actors concerning the current gender equality situation in the European Union and the priorities for the next five years.
