Food waste continues to exhaust our natural resources and generates greenhouse gas emissions. The purpose of this initiative, which is one of the flagship initiatives announced in the EU’s Farm to Fork Strategy, is to propose legally binding food waste reduction targets, subject to an impact assessment. They will contribute to limiting the impact of the food supply chain on the environment and climate, and will thus create a more sustainable food system.
