Proposal for a Council Recommendation on long-term care

The initiative aims to establish a European framework to guide policy reforms in long-term care (LTC) in Member States which take account of demographic ageing and in line with the European Pillar of Social Rights. The pillar recognises the right to affordable LTC services of good quality. With aging population, more people need LTC, but many lack access to affordable high-quality LTC. The pandemic revealed widespread structural weaknesses in this area and the need to take appropriate action.
