Waterborne transport is undergoing a profound transformation towards green and digital mobility. The European Commission is developing a strategy to strengthen the competitiveness, sustainability and resilience of Europe’s waterborne manufacturing sector and the related value chain. This will also contribute to a strong European maritime and inland waterway transport sector. This strategy will outline measures to boost the transition, including on innovation, investment and promoting a global level playing field.
