Land use, land use change and forestry – review of EU rules
Climate action
The European Green Deal sets an objective for the EU to become the first climate neutral continent by 2050 and proposes to increase the EU’s greenhouse gas emission reductions target for 2030. The Commission will review all relevant policies in this respect, including the regulation on the ‘land use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF)’ sector. The review will aim at increasing this sector’s efforts to reduce emissions and to maintain and enhance the carbon removals from the sector.
