Single market

This initiative will develop stricter emission standards (Euro 7) for all combustion-engine cars, vans, lorries and buses. To ensure that vehicles on EU roads are clean over their whole lifetime, the proposed rules will consider new vehicle technologies and ensure real-time measurement of emissions. This initiative is part of the Commission’s commitment to accelerate the shift to sustainable and smart mobility, as set out in the European Green Deal.
