Evaluation of the Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation

The Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation (‘MVBER’), which declares Art. 101(1) of the Treaty inapplicable to certain categories of vertical agreements and concerted practices in the motor vehicle sector, will expire on 31 May 2028 and its operation must be evaluated before that date. The purpose of this initiative is to provide evidence on the functioning of the MVBER since its recent extension and the amendments introduced to the guidance provided in the corresponding Commission Notice ("Supplementary Guidelines") in 2023.
