The Act is part of the AI Continent initiative. It will address the EU’s gap in cloud and AI infrastructure capacity through three pillars: I) research & innovation for accelerating the greening of AI cloud and compute infrastructure and data centres; II) industrial investments in sustainable cloud and AI capacity, with the aim to triple the EU’s data processing capacity in the next 5 to 7 years; III) actions to increase capacities of secure processing of cloud providers located in the EU.
