Update of EU rules on audiovisual media services

EU rules on audiovisual media services are one of the cornerstones of the EU media policy and regulation. Promoting the competitiveness of European media companies, the cross-border circulation of media content, protecting viewers and enhancing cultural diversity and media pluralism are among their objectives. The Commission will evaluate the impact and added value of those rules and where appropriate, present proposals for its review.
